Want to Vent? Free Online Chatrooms for those of us in Pain

I’m sure we’ve all (those of us experiencing chronic pain) have wanted to pull our hair out and scream at the top of our lungs, just in hopes of getting someone’s’ attention. Sometimes, it feels as if no one understands, wants to listen, or can be empathetic to us.

I am guilty of withholding my true feelings and emotional upset, when I’m trying to ‘handle’ my pain. Too often I would give anything to have an open forum to speak with others in confidence and to share experiences with living in pain.

Now, the Pain Foundation has an online chat feature where anyone can connect with those suffering, caretakers, and  health care professionals. Together, as a community, we can share the tools in order to successfully live with pain.

10,000 Voices

Hello friends,

I’m baaacck.

It’s been a busy year away. I’ve come back to continue my story. A lot has happened since we last connected. Two more surgeries, countless journal entries ranging from bouts of confusion, anger, despair, to shreds of hopes, optimism, and healing.

I want to share this initiative: 10,000 Voices from the Pain Foundation.

Visit the site here:  http://voices.painfoundation.org/

Upload a video, photo, drawing of your choice and share your experience living with pain (* caregivers and friends/family are welcome to share their stories as well)

I did a search and didn’t see anyone under the age of 30. This doesn’t surprise me, as most pain-related sites, books, blogs, etc, are geared towards an older crowd, as opposed to us younger folks experiencing pain.

All the more reason why I feel compelled to share my story.

I will continue to blog (though I can’t promise frequency) and one day, I hope to make a book of short essays.

Thank you for joining me on this journey,

S

I look inside my body and see warm vibrant sunlight shining into sore tense tight places and softening, melting, dissolving the discomfort

I can see a powerful blue green wave of pure healing washing through my body from head to toe, clearing out any unwanted debris and taking it out with the tide.

I can look inside my body and see the rebuilding of new cells.

I am healing.

I will be well.
